England between the two world wars, the social life is strong and so change is coming to a golden age of the end. Charles Ryder (Matthew Goode) comes from a simple family and learns during his studies at Oxford to the aristocratic Sebastian Flyte March Main (Ben Whishaw) and its life debauchery know. The two friends quickly and seem inseparable. During a visit to Bride Head, the country chateau of March Mains, Sebastian tries delicate ties with Charles to make. Charles, however, are not in love with Sebastian, but his sister Julia (Hayley Atwell).
